“There Was a Little Girl” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

In this blog post, I’ll be discussing the poem “There Was a Little Girl” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This poem is a classic that has been enjoyed by generations of readers. In this post, I’ll be exploring what the poem means to me and why I think it’s still relevant today.

The poem tells the story of a little girl who has a curl in the middle of her forehead. When she’s good, she’s very good indeed, but when she’s bad, she’s horrid. This simple rhyme has captured the hearts of readers for generations. To me, the poem is about the duality of human nature. We all have good and bad sides to our personalities, and sometimes one side can dominate over the other.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was an American poet who lived in the 19th century. He was one of the most popular poets of his time and his works are still widely read today. Some of his other famous poems include “Paul Revere’s Ride” and “The Song of Hiawath".

“There Was a Little Girl” is a timeless poem that still resonates with readers today. Its simple rhyme and universal themes make it a classic that will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come.

The Bhagavad Gita - A Guide to Life

The Bhagavad Gita is a Hindu scripture that is considered to be one of the most important texts in Hinduism. It is a dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna that takes place on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

The Bhagavad Gita teaches us many important lessons about life. One of the most important lessons is the concept of Nishkam Karma, which means "selfless action". This means that one should perform their duties without any attachment to the results of their actions.

The concept of Nishkam Karma is rooted in Chapter 2, Verse 19 of the Bhagavad Gita. This verse means "One who thinks that the soul is a slayer and one who thinks that it is slain are not in knowledge, as the soul neither kills nor it is killed."

The Bhagavad Gita also teaches us about the importance of devotion to God and how we can achieve inner peace through meditation. It teaches us about the nature of the soul and how we can attain liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

If you want to learn more about the Bhagavad Gita, you can read it online or find a copy at your local library or bookstore. It is a beautiful text that has inspired millions of people around the world.

Chandragupt by Jaishankar Prasad

Chandragupta is a prominent play by Jaishankar Prasad. It is a play about the rise of Mauryan Empire founder Chandragupta Maurya and the fall of King Dhana Nanda, the ruler of superpower Magadh. Also, it is a story about Chanakya’s revenge and his beliefs.

One of the quote from the book I liked:

मनुष्य साधारण धर्मा पशु है, विचारशील होने से मनुष्य हो सकता है और निःस्वार्थ कर्म करने से वही देवता भी हो सकता है।

Meaning: Human is originally an animal, by thinking it can become human and by doing unselfish work he only can become god.

रश्मिरथी

Rashmirathi is a Hindi epic poem written by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. It tells the story of Karna, one of the central characters in the Indian epic Mahabharata. The poem is divided into seven chapters or sargas.

Here are some interesting quotes from Rashmirathi:

1. “जिसके खत में उसका नाम नहीं, वह कब तक खुद का है अपना?” (Jiske khat mein uska naam nahin, woh kab tak khud ka hai apna?) - Whose letter does not have his name, how long will he be his own?
2. “जो अपने दुख से दूसरों को दुखी करे, वह क्षण-भंगुर है सुखी कहलाने के लायक नहीं।” (Jo apne dukh se doosron ko dukhi kare, woh kshan-bhangur hai sukhi kahlaane ke layak nahin.) - He who makes others unhappy with his own sorrow is not worthy of being called happy even for a moment.

3. ऊँच-नीच का भेद न माने, वही श्रेष्ठ ग्यानी है,
दया धर्म जिसमे हो, सबसे वही पूज्य प्राणी है।

Meaning: A learned man should not believe in the distinction between upper and lower echelons of society. One who has forgiveness should be revered.

4. तन से समरशूर, मन से भावुक, स्वभाव से दानी,
जाती-गोत्र का नहीं, शील का, पौरुष का अभिमानी।

Meaning: brave from body, emotional at heart, charitable from behavior, not of caste-sect, proud of his character and manliness.

13 assasins

If you have just seen the rating of this movie on IMDb and want to see it, please dont expect too much. Its not that good a samurai movie. Last half an hour is just crowd sword fighting, that didnt impressed me. Starting has shown brutal violence by an autocratic ruler, and a team of 13 is formed to assasinate him. Harakiri has been shown many a times in the movie, so you will learn about that self inflicted brutal act too. My suggestion: dont watch(5/10)

Paranormal Activity 3

Of all the Paranormal Activity movies, this one has shown the presence of the paranormals most strongly. While it may not be better than the first two, it’s definitely worth watching for horror movie buffs.

The movie tells the story of how paranormal activity started in the lives of two sisters, which was shown in the first two parts. So it’s kind of a prequel.

The characters are likable and the effects are actually top-notch and done effectively. There’s a scene with the babysitter where the demon is wearing a blanket and is standing right behind her that will give you major goosebumps.

Critics have said that while the jolts and thrills are undeniably subject to diminishing returns that plague most horror sequels, Paranormal Activity 3 is a surprisingly spine-tingling treat

The woman in black

Introduction: The Woman in Black is a spine-chilling horror movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The movie is based on Susan Hill’s novel of the same name and is directed by James Watkins.

Plot: The movie follows Arthur Kipps (played by Daniel Radcliffe), a young lawyer who is sent to a remote village to settle the affairs of a deceased client. While there, he discovers the vengeful ghost of a woman dressed in black who haunts the village and its inhabitants.

Experience: Watching The Woman in Black was an intense experience. The movie’s atmosphere and controlled horror kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. There were moments where I was caught off guard and felt a chill down my spine.

Strengths and Weaknesses: The depiction of the time and place is done perfectly well . However, the protagonist still looks like a boy and that too, Harry Potter . Apart from that, the movie is good, and for an ardent horror movie watcher, it’s something.

Conclusion: If you’re looking for a spine-chilling horror movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, then The Woman in Black is definitely worth watching. It’s not perfect, but it’s still a great movie that will leave you feeling scared and satisfied.

Who am "I"?

Who am I?? Lets consider I is simply a hypothetical character generated by the brain. But why dont we give a damn about brain or the heart when the body loses that essence called life? The body is just another object without life. So what is this that make blood flows, stops it to stop flowing. Brain is the central organ of the human body, it somehow controls the heart beat, percieves the senses and does all the other small n big functions. Who runs the brain then? Can it take a decision which is not pre defined? Or it just acts upon the past experience and learning. What about the first experience?

TETRIS

Why is someone happy, why are others sad, why is someone angry, why are others pleased, why is someone confused, why are others oriented. Do we really think that if we do something it will make any difference in the life of others. Can you make someone happy forever? No. We are like the blocks of tetris. Game is destined to end is the first hard truth that one should understand, if u r placed right then the line completes u r deleted, u delay the game for sometime. Also, you are not present to see the end, but if u have not been placed correctly u will be there to see the end and not only that, you r responsible for its end. It is not only the last block, that is responsible for ending the game, but all the others below it, who had more degree of freedom, but they are placed wrongly. Someone will delve for the player, who is playing? Its not u, u r only a block.........but lets imagine something, these blocks are responsible for their own fate, they can move themselves, they can rotate, but one thing they cant control is that they cant stop falling. Now others will ask; why this game is being played? Answer is not out here, its in there. You want to delay the ending (You cant stop it, otherwise core reason in your heart is this only), why u want to delay it, u get points. What is the purpose of playing now? Its because you love playing it, that's it. Now you are the blocks and you are playing it, u r in the game because u love this game called "LIFE". Now two things come into mind. Isn't there a new game option? & Why cant we stop falling and decide where to fit? Of course there's new game but u will not get the same shape and situation and it will look new. So you'll never know. And the latter is easy to answer, u stop time and you are good. OK, now you have stopped time, go to the best place complete two lines you are good. Now think everyone can do that, it is increasing the chaos, not changing the result greatly unless we work in coherence. that will remove the mistakes of the block but its not possible to change the type of block, so again u can delay it further and further, but destiny is defined. Now a simple question peeps out of our minds: Who is to decide the shape of the block? This who I don't know, like in a random number generating command. Processor is not programmed to generate no. in a specific pattern its a complete anarchy, 2 processor of same kind made from the same machine, produces different random numbers.
